HORAL's Megablend editions

2024

Oude Geuze Megablend 2024.
A unique blend. A shared passion.
The Oude Geuze Megablend 2024 is an exceptional beer that embodies the collaboration between 13 lambic brewers and gueuze blenders from the Zenne Valley and the Pajottenland. Brewed especially for the 15th edition of the Toer de Geuze, and composed of carefully selected lambics from all HORAL members, this Megablend is no ordinary Oude Geuze. It is a complex, vibrant beer that matures in the bottle and only becomes richer with age. Each bottle is an ode to tradition, terroir, and craftsmanship, and tangible proof of what collaboration in a region can mean.

2022

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the brewers’ association and the 14th Toer de Geuze, the HORAL members have created a special oude geuze: the HORAL Megablend 2022.

It is the 8th Megablend in a row. All 11 HORAL members (Boon, De Oude Cam, De Troch, Den Herberg, Hanssens, Lambiek Fabriek, Lindemans, Mort Subite, Oud Beersel, Tilquin and Timmermans) have contributed by delivering an amount of lambic. 29,300 bottles were filled. The outside was printed with a festive tricolor design. On the front are the HORAL logo, the names of all manufacturers, the date 1997-2022, a flag with the number 25 and the European Traditional Speciality Guaranteed label.

If you also want to taste this Megablend, you can buy bottles during the Toer de Geuze at the HORAL members who contributed to the Megablend or order a box of 12 bottles via megablend@horal.be. Shipping cost will be added.

2009

On the occasion of the 7th Toer de Geuze, a special Oude Geuze was assembled: the HORAL Megablend 2009.

HORAL has since released a Megablend every two years. A total of 16,000 numbered bottles of the Megablend 2009 were produced. The bottle with the label number 00001 was auctioned via eBay. Takayuki Yamamoto, a geuze lover from Japan, made the highest bid: 255 euros. It was the same geuze enthusiast from Tokyo who won the HORAL Megablend 2011 number 00001 for 315 EUR. The Megablend 2009 and 2011 are blends of young and old lambic from eight HORAL members (3 Fonteinen, Boon, De Oude Cam, De Troch, Hanssens, Lindemans, Oud Beersel and Timmermans).
